Editorial policy

How we research, what we publish and what we deliberately leave out.

Our editorial rules

Niana Analytics publishes explanatory football analytics. Every guide is written to be read on its own: it defines its terms, shows the mechanics and states the limits of what is being measured.

How we research

  • We work from public definitions of metrics and competition rules.
  • We explain formulas and construction, not private data or proprietary outputs.
  • We keep football as the subject and avoid drifting into a programming tutorial.

Corrections

When a definition or a competition rule changes, the affected guide is revised and the change is described in plain language. Explanations of methods age better than numbers, which is why we avoid the latter.

About our numbers. Every figure on this site describes a method, a formula or a competition rule. We deliberately do not publish invented player statistics, match scores or rankings, and we add no links to outside sites. Read every metric as a tool with a definition, not as a verdict.
